IBN Annual Reception at Cleveland Hopkins Airport
The CLE Crowd History and Its Bright Future
Speaker: Director Robert Kennedy, Cleveland Hopkins International Airport
What do airports do? They connect people with people and people with places. The statistics for Cleveland Hopkins are positive. Traffic levels are increasing, just about back to their historic peak. Seats available and destinations are increasing, and fares are lower. The mix of airlines providing services is more diverse. The proportion of passenger origins and destinations within the region in now much higher than in the days of the Continental hub.
The airport is more friendly and easier to navigate as evidenced by it’s being designated as the Most Improved Airport in the country.
Director Kennedy gives the credit for progress at Hopkins to its passengers and airport employees. He sees his role as looking to the future to prepare for continuing progress. The airport is about to develop a new Master Plan that will set the stage for the future and address complex facility limitations such as passenger access and customs operations.
